Daily School Routine
General Information
The school schedule starts at 9 am and runs until 5 pm in the afternoon. For young children, if I'm not mistaken, lessons end at 3 pm. Each student's school day is divided into several stages: Morning classes, the first break, the second block of classes, lunch break, and the last, third block of classes. Then, everyone goes home. Every day there are 7 to 8 lessons of 50 minutes each, but there are also Free Periods for DP students, where you can spend time repeating exam material, doing a school project, or just doing homework. Free Periods are formed according to the schedule of each student, depending on his main subjects and additional High-Level lessons.
Your question:
Could it unexpectedly happen that the school is not able to fit two of my chosen subjects into the schedule because of the time inability?
My answer:
Unfortunately, such unpleasant situations sometimes happen when the organizers of the school fail to place your lesson under the general schedule of the secondary school and other students of your course. Unfortunately, one teacher cannot give lessons in two classes at once, and due to the lack of teachers, you can sometimes be forced to change your choice of subject to another. In addition, the same situation can happen if an insufficient number of students have enrolled in any course. The school has the right to cancel a particular course any year, and you will be obliged to change your subject choice.
The first block of classes
The first block of classes consists of three lessons at the beginning of the day. The first one starts at 9:00, and the last one ends at 11:30. I remind you that each lesson lasts for 50 minutes. Also, the last lesson in the first block on Thursdays is the Cycle Test. This name speaks for itself, a weekly test that takes place among all students of the school. It is mandatory and its assessment affects your final assessment in the trimester.

First break
The first break takes place from 11:30 to 12:00 every school day. After studying in the CIS, it will be difficult to get used to such long continuous studying hours, but it becomes normal once you do this routine for a couple of weeks. During the first break, all students can move around the school and meet with their friends from other courses. Also, a small snack is distributed around the school. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, there are sandwiches and cakes. And on Tuesdays and Thursdays, there are different kinds of fruit.

The second block of classes
The second block of classes starts at 12:00 in the afternoon and goes until 13:40. At the same time, on Wednesdays at 12:50 there is a school meeting among all students of different courses. They discuss suitable changes and plans, school leaders give presentations.

Second (Lunch) break
The second break takes place from 13:40 up to 14:30 or 15:20 every school day, depending on the course. This break is no longer 30 minutes like the first, but a whole hour, and for some 2. The duration of the break depends on the course. DP, for example, does not get as much time to rest as middle school does(MYP), however, eats lunch first. Classes at the diploma program begin at 14:30. At that time, Pai's 4th (last grade of secondary school) had only two long breaks a week, an additional philosophy lesson on Mondays, a personal project on Wednesdays. There is also a study hour in the library on Fridays.

The third block of classes
As I have already mentioned, for students on the Diploma course, the last block of classes begins at 14:30. The same happens to 4 MYP on some days. All the other students have it start at 15:20. All these deep-to-the-day school classes are complicated because most of the students are already tired. The last block usually does not include any hard subjects. In most cases, only languages and art lessons are taught at that time. The last block of classes ends at 17:00, after which everyone cheerfully goes home. This is how a very long day passes at my international school. Although new students may find such a long school day hard and exhausting, it is quite easy to get used to it. It's especially pleasing when you do a huge amount of work for such a long day, realising that you have not lost a second, and have done a lot throught the day.
